Amit Shah also stressed the need to create a national-level suspect registry covering all states to prevent future crimes. He announced that I4C will launch a nationwide awareness campaign from September 10 using FM radio and other platforms. He said, “The more popular the 1930 number is, the more effective it will be. On this occasion, I will also appeal to all state governments to join this campaign.” The Home Minister stressed the importance of securing cyberspace, saying that 46 per cent of global digital transactions take place in India.

He appreciated the efforts of I4C in issuing more than 600 advisories and blocking websites, social media pages, mobile apps and accounts used by cyber criminals. The I4C wing of the Ministry of Home Affairs was established on October 5, 2018 under the Central Sector Scheme within the Cyber and Information Security Division (CIS Division) of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Its primary objective is to establish a national level coordination centre to address all issues related to cyber crime across the country. Let us know how the four major cyber platforms launched by Union Home Minister Amit Shah will work…

Cyber Fraud Mitigation Center

This center will be connected to 1930 control rooms of all states (36 states and union territories). Under this, high priority cases will be monitored.

Coordination Portal

This portal will work to assist and coordinate in the prevention of cyber crime, analysis and investigation of fake cards and accounts used in cyber crimes. Requests for CCTV footage can be sent through this platform. This platform will also provide technical and legal help.

Cyber Commando Program

Cyber commandos will protect the citizens of the country as sentinels of Digital India. For this, soldiers of paramilitary forces and state police have been selected. They will be given cyber security training in 8 renowned training institutes of the country like IIT, RRU (National Defense University), NFSU (National Forensic Science University).

Suspect Registry

Under this platform, risk management capabilities will be registered. Mule accounts (bank accounts that facilitate illegal transactions of money obtained from illegal activities) are used extensively in banks and other financial institutions. Under Suspect Registration, the database of such suspicious bank accounts will be shared with banks and financial institutions. This will make it easier to track suspicious bank accounts.
