The big thing is that this film is also going to be made by Haseen Dilruba’s producer-writer Kanika Dhillon. The success of Haseen Dilruba and then Haseen Dilruba and this pair of Taapsee and Kanika proves that they are unmatched in making female lead stories. Both of them have previously worked together in Manmarziyaan and Rashmi Rocket. Due to this, fans’ expectations from Gandhari have increased a lot. Taapsee said- Kanika and I are working together again to do something different. This is the first time Kanika has written an action film. This is also the first time I am doing an emotionally inspired action film. At a time when spy films were not in vogue.
“Then I did Naam Shabana and Baby and came out of it. So, now that it’s suddenly back in trend, I was offered a few similar films which I turned down because I felt I had done it before. And the audience loved them. The audience accepted and liked me in those roles. Then Kanika thought of doing Gandhari. I’m not a spy in it, I’m a mother who’s going to fight for revenge.”
