Security forces killed two terrorists in an encounter in Jammu. These two terrorists were killed in an encounter near the Line of Control (LOC) in Rajouri district on Monday. Officials said that heavy weapons have been recovered from the dead terrorists.

According to the news agency, an official said that late on Sunday night, alert soldiers in the Lam area of ​​Naushera sector saw terrorists trying to cross the border and enter this side, after which firing started.

Regarding this encounter, Army PRO Lieutenant Colonel Sunil Bartwal said, in a joint operation with Jammu and Kashmir Police, the Army successfully foiled the infiltration attempt of terrorists in Naushera sector.

A huge cache of weapons recovered from the slain terrorists

He said that since August 30, inputs were received about the presence of terrorists around the Naushera sector. Since then, all possible routes of infiltration were kept under surveillance. The officer said that the area is being monitored from both land and sky.

The PRO said that intensive patrolling has been increased in the area and troops have been deployed in key areas to prevent terrorist infiltration. He said that at around 7.30 pm on the night of September 8, the surveillance teams noticed suspicious movement of some people in the area, after which the operation was launched.

Firing continued all night

The officer said that as soon as the terrorists were detected, heavy firing started from both sides which continued throughout the night. UAVs, night vision cameras and other surveillance equipment were used to keep an eye on the terrorists. He said that ultimately the soldiers succeeded in killing both the terrorists in the firing.

Lieutenant Colonel Bartwal said that after this a search operation was started on the morning of 9 September to deal with any other threat. He said a large cache of war-like stores including two AK-47 rifles, an M-4 rifle and a pistol have been recovered from the killed terrorists.
