Ramban Police Arrest Two Bootleggers, Seize Around 50 Bottles of Illicit Liquor

In a crackdown on illegal liquor trade, the Ramban Police, under the direction of Senior Superintendent of Police Kulbir Singh, arrested two bootleggers and recovered approximately 50 bottles of illicit liquor from their possession on Wednesday.

The first arrest was made by a police patrol team from Police Station Ramban, who apprehended Dhani Ram, son of Suraj Singh, a resident of Tanger in Ramban district. The team recovered 17 bottles (375ML each) and 15 bottles (180ML each) of illicit alcohol from his possession.

The accused was found illegally selling the liquor, and a total of 32 bottles were seized from him.

In another incident, another police party from Police Station Ramban arrested Om Singh, son of Pyar Singh, a resident of Village Adwah in Ramban district. They recovered 8 bottles (750 ML each) and 9 bottles (375 ML each) of illicit liquor from his possession.

The accused was also found illegally selling liquor, and a total of 17 bottles were recovered from him.

The police have registered two separate cases, FIR No. 214 and 215 of 2024, under relevant sections of the Excise Act at Police Station Ramban.
