Here a man not only cheated a woman police officer by posing as a fake constable, but also got married to her in a fake manner. He did this not only with one woman police officer but with many. The police have arrested the accused.
Police said that the accused Rajan Verma is a resident of Lakhimpur Kheri district. He was absconding for a long time. It is alleged that by posing as a policeman, he not only made many female constables victims of his lust, but who knows how many women have become victims so far. Police is investigating this matter thoroughly. Along with making the female police personnel victims of his lust, the accused also cheated them of lakhs of rupees by deceiving them. The accused deceived a female constable of Lakhimpur and married her. But soon Rajan’s reality was revealed to that female constable. Rajan Verma is not in the police, but is an eighth pass.
This is how he was caught by Bareilly police
When the accused Rajan Verma came in contact with a female constable posted in Bareilly, he told her that he was posted with ADG Lucknow. He deceived the female constable by telling her that he was unmarried and then had physical relations with her. He kept on giving false promises of marriage to the female police officer for a long time.
Loan taken in the name of female police officer
The accused had trapped the woman in his love trap in such a way that he even took a loan in the name of the woman police personnel. Not only this, he took a personal loan of 6.5 lakhs to buy a plot in Lucknow. Apart from this, he also kept taking money from time to time. Police say that the accused had used the Aadhaar card and PAN card of a woman constable, on the basis of which he has been caught.
What did SP City say about the accused?
SP City Rahul Bhati said that a case was registered in Kotwali police station on 13 July 2024 under IPC section 376 and fraud. The accused had cheated the female police officer by luring her with marriage. He was absconding for a long time, he has been arrested. The name of the accused is Rajan Verma. He used to extract the complete data of the female police officers he targeted from the official website of the police. It contains all the information about where the female police officer is posted. He used to deceive them by introducing himself as a police officer and sending them photos with the police.
So far, he has confessed to 8-10 incidents in his statement because four to five cases are already registered against him. Two cases have been registered in Moradabad, one in Lakhimpur Kheri and one in Bareilly. Apart from this, more incidents are being investigated. He mainly targeted women police personnel. He used to cheat them by luring them with marriage. In the case registered in Bareilly, he has cheated a woman police personnel of Rs 30 lakh.
