The deaths of 12 candidates who appeared in the Jharkhand Excise Constable Recruitment Physical Test have created a ruckus. Doctors say that there has been some problem with the candidates who did not practice running. While a police officer who was monitoring the recruitment exam did not rule out the possibility of the candidates consuming energy drinks.

On-duty doctor SK Vinayak of the recruitment site said, running suddenly can reduce the oxygen level along with the pressure in the human body. Also, substances like steroids or energy drinks can be very harmful. He has appealed that this is not the last exam of life, so the candidates should be patient.

Commandant rank IPS officer Mukesh Kumar, who was overseeing the recruitment exam in Palamu, also said, candidates need to be patient. The behaviour of some candidates participating in the race was strange. They should not take shortcuts. Consuming energy drinks or taking medicines can also be a reason for death. However, investigation is going on in this regard.

However, the faces of the male and female candidates who qualified for the recruitment are shining. The successful candidates say that their family members wanted them to serve the society and also support their family by taking up a government job.

Male and female candidates said that they have practised for a long time for the race so that their timing and stamina remain correct and maintained. Some qualified in 28 minutes, some in 32 and some in 52 minutes. Women had to qualify by running 5km in 40 minutes and men had to qualify by running 10km in 60 hours. Qualified candidates also believe that without practise there can be problems and short cuts, i.e., stamina enhancers, can be fatal.
