In the case of the girls found hanging from a tree in Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh, the mother and sister of the 18-year-old elder girl spoke to Aaj Tak. They said that they never knew that their daughter had a SIM card, mobile or that she talked to anyone. The SIM was recovered from the younger 15-year-old girl living in the neighbourhood.
Talking to Aaj Tak, the mother of the deceased said, no one in the house scolded the daughter, no one said anything to her, then why did she commit suicide? Why would she leave the house and go to that garden to commit suicide? The father of the elder girl says that after arresting the accused, the police also made them talk.

In the conversation, both the boys told that on the night of Janmashtami, they had called the girls and asked them to meet. Then why did they leave the girls and go away. At the same time, the victim’s father has raised questions on the post-mortem by showing the pictures of the girls’ dead bodies.
Assured to get justice to the family
Rahul Gandhi and Akhilesh Yadav wrote posts raising questions on the safety of Dalits and women in Uttar Pradesh, while BJP MPs and local MLAs also visited the victim’s family. BJP MP from Farrukhabad Mukesh Rajput and Apna Dal MLA from Kaimganj Dr. Surabhi Gangwar have assured the family of getting justice.
At the same time, the police has claimed that the boys named Deepak and Pawan used to harass the two girls to talk on the phone. The police have arrested both of them. But the families are questioning the police theory. However, the police and the CMO claim that videography was done during the post-mortem and the post-mortem was done by a panel of doctors.
