Sometimes such opportunities come in life which you never thought of. This is what happened with Lakhpati Didi Sangeeta. Sangeeta got the opportunity to interact face-to-face with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 25 August at the Lakhpati Didi Sammelan held in Jalgaon (Maharashtra). This was an unforgettable moment in her life, which she will never forget.

Lakhpati Didi Sangeeta, a resident of Bicholi village of Ichhawar block of Sehore district, is very excited about the direct discussion with PM Modi. She says that the Prime Minister came to know about our work, understood it and praised us.

Sangeeta told the PM that the Government of India had started a scheme to prepare 10 thousand Farmer Producer Organizations (FPO) in the year 2021. Under this scheme, we formed the Self-reliant Women Farmer Producer Company in 2021 itself.

More than 1200 farmer sisters became lakhpatis in 3 years

In the first year itself, more than a thousand farmer women joined our company. Everyone’s hard work paid off. The company did a business of 2 crore 48 lakh rupees in the first year itself. More than 2000 farmer sisters have joined our company so far. Out of these, more than 1200 sisters have become Lakhpati sisters. The Prime Minister praised Sangeeta and her farmer company and congratulated her.

This is the work the company does

Sangeeta and all other farmer sisters are very happy with the success of their farmer company. Their company is working on the purchase of wheat, soybean, maize and other grains as crop seed collection and output business.

The company has so far done a business of Rs 5 crore 43 lakh (annual turnover value). Due to the progressiveness of her farmer group, Sangeeta was invited as the company representative to the Lakhpati Didi Sammelan in Jalgaon.

Housewife Sangeeta has now become a business woman

Sangeeta, who from being a simple housewife has now become a full-fledged businesswoman, has managed the business of a Farmer Producer Company. She expresses her heartfelt gratitude to the women and farmer friendly Madhya Pradesh government and Ajeevika Mission for giving her the opportunity to interact with the Prime Minister.
