Slipped from the bridge, got stuck in the bush… this is how the man who was swept away in the raging river survived

A man was swept away while crossing a bridge over a swollen river in Khargone, Madhya Pradesh. Fortunately, the young man’s life was saved as he got stuck in the bushes. The villagers tried on their own but when they could not rescue the young man, the SDRF team rescued the trapped man.

This incident is from Karhi police station area, about 80 km from the district headquarters. At 6 pm on Saturday evening, Ramlal Makwane (45) was crossing the culvert in Devpipaliya village despite the river being in spate. During this, he was swept away by the strong current.

Ramlal got stuck in the bushes in the middle of the flowing river. Villagers were standing on both sides of the river. They raised an alarm after seeing the youth floating, then the villagers tried to save the youth on their own. When they could not save the youth after much effort, the police was informed.

Karhi police station in-charge Rajendra Barman immediately called the SDRF team and divers from Maheshwar reached the middle of the river at night and rescued the young man safely.

The police station in-charge says that the youth trapped in the middle of the river has been rescued safely by the SDRF team. He has appealed to the people not to cross the bridges during the overflowing river.
