How to celebrate Janmashtami? (Janmashtami Pujan Vidhi)
On the morning of Janmashtami, take a bath and pledge to fast and worship. Consume only water or fruits throughout the day and remain sattvic. At midnight, keep the metal idol of Lord Krishna in a vessel. First bathe it with milk, then curd, then honey and sugar and finally ghee. This is called Panchamrit Snan. After this, bathe Kanha with water. Keep in mind that the things to be offered should be offered only after putting them in a conch. The person doing the worship should not wear black or white clothes on this day. Chant mantras according to your wish. Take the prasad and distribute it among others as well.
Janmashtami Pujan Vidhi (Method of Worshiping on Janmashtami)
To worship Laddu Gopal on Janmashtami, first spread a cloth on a clean stool and place the idol or picture of Laddu Gopal. Keep water, kumkum powder, sandalwood paste, incense, Aarti lamp and flowers in the puja plate. Also prepare a plate of bhog in which keep panchamrit, panjiri, coconut sweets, fruits or any bhog as per your wish.
After the birth of Shri Krishna, first of all give a bath to Laddu Gopal in which first of all mix milk, curd, ghee, honey. After this, mix Gangajal in the water and give him a bath again. Apply sandalwood on the forehead of Laddu Gopal and dress him in clean clothes. Decorate his head with a crown and a flute in his hand and then perform aarti.
