Madhya Pradesh Police has issued a lookout circular for Haji Shahzad Ali, the main accused in the stone pelting incident at Chhatarpur Kotwali, so that he does not flee the country. Meanwhile, the administration has demolished the luxurious mansion of the accused during the action.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Agam Jain said that a lookout circular has been issued to ensure that the accused Shahzad Ali does not flee the country. Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against 46 named and 150 unidentified people for rioting and stone pelting.

In fact, a few days ago, Hindu saint Ramgiri Maharaj had allegedly made objectionable remarks against Islam during a religious event at Shah Panchale village in Sinnar taluka of Nashik district of Maharashtra.

In protest against this, people of the Muslim community protested on August 21, but it turned violent. Around 300-400 people led by religious leaders reached the police station and demanded to register a case against Ramgiri Maharaj. Several FIRs have already been registered against Maharaj in Maharashtra for allegedly making objectionable remarks against the Prophet.

It was reported that the crowd suddenly became aggressive and started pelting stones. After the attack on the police station, the local administration demolished the house of Haji Shahzad Ali saying that it was built without permission.

On the other hand, the Congress submitted a memorandum to the DGP of Madhya Pradesh condemning the ‘trend’ of ‘bulldozer justice’. All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi also condemned the demolition of Ali’s house and termed it state-sponsored communalism.

Reacting to such comments about the Chhatarpur incident, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that no one is above the law and the government is working as per constitutional norms.
