High alert in Israel, strict restrictions on citizens, sea coast of Lebanese border completely sealed

There is tremendous tension between Israel and Lebanon. There are continuous attacks on each other from both sides. Meanwhile, Israel’s Home Front Command (the force responsible for the safety of citizens) has imposed new restrictions on citizens living in the capital Tel Aviv and especially in the northern region.

Alert issued for Israeli citizens

Announcing the new restrictions, the Home Front Command said that schools and offices can remain open only if they have shelters nearby that can be reached quickly in case of any attack. Restrictions have also been imposed on gathering of people. According to the instructions, more than 300 people have been banned from staying inside a building, while more than 30 people have been banned from gathering together outside. At the same time, beaches near the Lebanese border have been completely closed to people.

Emergency in Israel for 48 hours

In view of the current situation, the Israeli Prime Minister called an emergency meeting. Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Galant declared an emergency for the next 48 hours, while Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu chaired a high-level meeting to address the escalating situation in the north. According to the Times of Israel report, Netanyahu said during the meeting, “We will make every effort to protect our country, to bring the residents of the north back to their homes safely. Whoever harms us, we will harm them.”

Let us tell you that the Israeli army had carried out rapid air strikes on the bases of the Iran-backed organization Hezbollah. In response, Hezbollah fired more than 320 Katyusha rockets from Lebanon towards Israeli territory. Taking responsibility for the shower of missiles and explosive-laden drones, Hezbollah said that it had launched the attack in response to the killing of its military commander Fuad Shukr.

Biden’s eye on the situation

White House National Security Council spokesman Sean Savet said that as tensions between Israel and Hezbollah continue to escalate, US President Joe Biden is “closely monitoring events in Israel and Lebanon.” Savet said he remained engaged with his national security team throughout the evening. At his direction, senior US officials are in constant communication with their Israeli counterparts.

He said that we will continue to support Israel’s right to defend itself and we will continue to work for regional stability. After the IDF launched the attack, Defense Minister Gallant spoke to his American counterpart Lloyd Austin.
