During the rally of Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) in Ranchi, workers clashed with policemen. In this case, a case has been registered against 12,051 BJYM workers including Jharkhand BJP President Babulal Marandi, Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Amar Kumar Bauri, Union Minister Sanjay Seth and former Union Minister Arjun Munda.
SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha told news agency PTI that based on the statement of the magistrate, an FIR has been registered at Lalpur police station in Ranchi. He said that action will be taken against these people soon.
Case filed against 51 named and 12 thousand unknown people
Lalpur police station in-charge Rupesh Kumar Singh said that a case has been registered against 51 named and 12 thousand unidentified people. BJP workers demonstrated at all district headquarters and police stations on Saturday against the police action on BJYM workers during the rally on Friday.
BJYM workers had protested against the Hemant government
BJYM workers broke barricades during a protest rally against the ‘injustice’ done by the Hemant Soren government and its ‘failure’ to fulfil election promises. Police used tear gas shells, water cannon and fired rubber bullets to disperse the BJYM workers. Both sides claimed that several protesters and policemen were injured in the scuffle. The district administration had invoked Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023. Section 144 was imposed within a 500-metre radius of Morhabadi ground following the protest.
