Jamshedpur: The bodies of both pilots have been found but the search for the plane continues even after three days

Three days after the trainee aircraft went missing after taking off from Jamshedpur’s Sonari Airport, no trace has been found, although the bodies of both the pilots have been recovered.

According to the news agency, officials said that the trainee aircraft, which went missing after taking off from Jamshedpur on August 20, has not been found yet and the search operation for it was continuing in the dam on Friday as well.

The bodies of the trainee pilot and his trainer, who were on board the two-seater aircraft, were recovered from Chandil dam. Chandil sub-divisional magistrate Subhra Rani said, ‘The missing Cessna-152 aircraft is still missing.’

Navy team engaged in searching for missing plane

A team of the Indian Navy resumed its search on Thursday but did not make any breakthrough on Friday as well. On the first day, local authorities and the forest department searched for the plane, while on August 21, an NDRF team was assigned the task but the plane could not be traced.

After this, on the request of the officials of Seraikela-Kharswan district, a naval team came from Visakhapatnam and started searching for the missing aircraft of Alchemist Aviation Private Limited under the water of the Chandil Dam reservoir.

It is too early to say anything about the incident: Aviation company

Company General Manager Rabi Bhushan Pathak said that the Navy personnel have marked a specific area in the dam to conduct a search operation but no success has been achieved so far. Officials said that the bodies of trainee pilot Shubhrodeep Dutta and pilot-in-command Captain Jeet Shatru Anand have been handed over to their families after post-mortem. Dutta was a resident of Adityapur near Jamshedpur.

Pathak said that the family members of Captain Shatru have taken his body to Patna for last rites. Let us tell you that the plane went missing soon after taking off from Sonari airport on Tuesday.

Plane crashed into dam: Villagers

Villagers had claimed that the plane had crashed into the dam. Alchemist Aviation said in a statement that it is too early to say anything about the cause of the accident. However, the company has said that the plane that has gone missing had 80 liters of fuel with a flight capacity of 4 hours 30 minutes and the flight time was scheduled for 1 hour. ‘At around 11.10 am on Tuesday, the plane lost contact with Jamshedpur Air Traffic Control Tower (ATC).
