The CBI has filed a counter affidavit in the Supreme Court on the bail plea of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who is facing trial as the main accused in the excise policy scam. The investigating agency has opposed the arguments made in the bail plea. The matter will be heard again in the Supreme Court today.

CBI has said, ‘Kejriwal is the kingpin of this scam. Despite not being the minister of the Excise Department, he is the architect of the entire scam. He knew everything about this scam because all the decisions were taken with his consent and direction. But he is not giving satisfactory answers to the questions of the investigating agency. He wants to mislead the investigating agency. Therefore, releasing Kejriwal on bail at this crucial juncture of the investigation would not be justified from any point of view.’
