The Indian Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) is developing a new missile for the Indian Navy. This will be a long-range surface-to-air missile. It is being said that its range will be 250 km. It will shoot down any kind of anti-ship missile. Even if its speed is more than 8600 kilometers per hour.
This missile will provide air defense shield to the Indian Navy. So that the missiles of Pakistan or China cannot attack the warships, submarines and aircraft carriers of the Indian Navy in any way. This missile is being made under Project Kusha. It will be like the long-range surface-to-air LRSAM system.

Project Kush has three long-range air defense missiles. 150 km, 250 to 300 km and 400 km. For support, there is also the S-400 air defense system received from Russia. But DRDO is constantly engaged in making such weapons, which can also protect the country from the enemy’s nuclear ballistic missile.
Why is this missile being made?
At present, anti-ship ballistic missiles (ASBMs) are being developed at a rapid pace all over the world. These not only hit naval targets but can also target surface or air. Their speed is very high. It is difficult to stop them. Also, the destruction caused by them is very damaging.

China has anti-ship ballistic missiles like DF-21D. It is also called carrier killer. That means it can sink an entire aircraft carrier. Iran and America have also made such weapons. America’s SM-6 is such a missile. That’s why DRDO decided to make such a missile for the Indian Navy.
What will be special in this missile…
This missile will intercept any kind of anti-ship ballistic missile, whether it is equipped with conventional or nuclear weapons. It will have dual capability, meaning it will be able to target any kind of aircraft or ballistic missile. This will create a shield everywhere – land, ships, aircraft carriers.
