To promote the cultivation of marigold flowers in Bihar, the state government is giving 70 percent subsidy on the cultivation of marigold flowers under the Integrated Horticulture Development Mission Scheme.

According to the tweet made by the Bihar government on social media handle X, to increase the income of farmers, the Bihar government will give 70 percent subsidy on the cultivation of marigold flowers. This subsidy will be given through Bihar Agriculture Department, Horticulture Directorate.

To avail this subsidy, farmers can visit the official website of the government horticulture.bihar.gov.in. Under the Integrated Horticulture Development Mission Scheme, farmers of 23 districts of Bihar can increase their income by cultivating marigold flowers. This includes Patna, Ara, Nalanda, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Samastipur, West Champaran, Bhagalpur, East Champaran, Aurangabad, Darbhanga, Begusarai, Katihar, Madhubani, Purnia, Rohtas, Vaishali, Banka, Jamui, Khagaria, Kishanganj, Munger and Saharsa districts of Bihar. Farmers here can increase their income by cultivating the horticultural crop marigold.

Key points related to the scheme

1. The benefit of the scheme will be given on first come first serve basis.
2. The scheme is operational in 15 districts of the state: Arwal, Bhojpur, Buxar, Gopalganj, Jehanabad, Kaimur, Lakhisarai, Madhepura, Nawada, Saran, Sheikhpura, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Siwan and Supaul.
3. For cultivation of marigold flowers, the farmer must have land. To avail the benefits of the scheme, farmers must have LPC and updated receipt. Farmers who do not have land can avail the benefits of the scheme on the basis of agreement. The format of the agreement is available on the given link, which can be easily downloaded.
4. A farmer can avail the benefit of the scheme for a maximum of 4 hectares and a minimum of 0.1 hectare.
5. The unit rate of the scheme is ₹80000 per hectare on which the subsidy amount is 50%.
