A prisoner was admitted to the emergency ward of Sadar Hospital in Gopalganj. Even the doctors were surprised to see the condition of the prisoner. The prisoner had done such a thing that his condition had become serious. For this reason, the team of doctors has referred the medical college to PMCH for better treatment.
It is said that the undertrial prisoner of Barauli police station is lodged in Gopalganj Mandal Jail in a case of attempt to murder. On Sunday night he inserted a pipe into his anus. After that he tried to remove the pipe himself. By then the pipe had gone deeper. After this the trouble started increasing and he informed the personnel of Mandal Jail about it.
On Monday, he was treated for the whole day in Mandalkara. When his condition did not improve, he was admitted to the emergency ward of Sadar Hospital for better treatment. Here the hospital administration constituted a medical board and started the treatment of the prisoner.
Medical Board doctor Dr. Viman Kesari says that the X-ray test report clearly showed that a long pipe-shaped object was stuck near the spinal cord. Its length is said to be about one foot and thickness is said to be around 1 inch.
The doctor said that a medical team was formed and an X-ray of his intestine was done. A clear pipe was found in the X-ray. He was stabilized by giving medicine. But seeing that the situation was critical, he was referred outside for treatment.
The doctor said that the prisoner had inserted the pipe himself. The prisoner has not said anything as to why he did this. This is not the first case of such misdeeds by prisoners. Earlier, a prisoner had swallowed his mobile phone due to fear of being caught. Then he was referred to PMCH and the team of doctors took out the mobile through laser without any operation.
