There was no Facebook when Antonio Riaño committed murder nearly two decades ago, but when Paul Newton, the former deputy from the 2004 case, suddenly discovered him on Facebook 20 years later, he was shocked to see that it was the same killer he knew. Been searching for years. He was working as a police officer in Oaxaca state of Mexico. He was also using social media without any fear. US investigators contacted Mexican authorities and they confirmed that Riaño was indeed working as a police officer in the Zapotitlan Palmas Police Department. Mexico agreed to arrest Riaño and hand him over to US Marshals, who then transported him to Ohio to be charged with murder. He may be sentenced to life imprisonment.
