TDP chief and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu met PM Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Saturday. During this, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu and Minister of State Pemmasani also met PM Modi in Delhi along with Naidu.

This was the first meeting between the TDP chief and PM Modi after special financial assistance was given to Andhra Pradesh in the Union Budget. According to TDP, CM Chandrababu Naidu raised many major issues during his meeting with PM Narendra Modi.

Request for release of funds for Polavaram project

CM Naidu expressed gratitude for the announcements made regarding Andhra Pradesh in the Union Budget. He reiterated his request for early action on some issues. Naidu requested that the proposal regarding release of funds for the Polavaram project be passed in the upcoming cabinet. This will help in making good use of the construction period and completing the project quickly.

Fund sought for development of coastal areas

CM Naidu requested for early release of multilateral support as per the annual budget for the works in Amaravati. He reiterated the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganization Act and requested support under it.

The CM also requested for release of funds under Backward Region Grant for the development of districts in Rayalaseema, Prakasam and northern coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh.

CM Chandrababu Naidu has also raised the issue of Amaravati Capital and Back Region Grant Fund with Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. The two leaders also discussed the release of funds for capital works under Special Assistance for Capital Investment (SACI).
