A Jal Nigam (EXCN) engineer was beaten to death in Sultanpur, Uttar Pradesh. As soon as the information was received, CDO, ADM, city police reached there. The police took the body into custody and sent it for post-mortem. DM, SP, Additional SP, CO City and forensic team reached the spot and started investigation. The incident took place in Vinobapuri locality of Kotwali Nagar.
In fact, on Saturday morning, unknown miscreants beat up the executive engineer of Jal Nigam (Rural), who was living on rent in Vinobapuri locality of the city under Kotwali Nagar police station, in his room and fled away. The brutal murder of the engineer has created a stir in the area. At the same time, the police is interrogating the deceased’s driver Sandeep.
Sir sent me to bring curd and jalebi
Driver Sandeep told that he also lived with Saheb. In the morning he was sleeping, when the engineer of the department called several times. When he picked up the phone he said, I am standing below, you come down. When I reached down, he sent me to bring curd and jalebi. When he came back, he saw that Sahib’s mouth was bandaged and some people were beating him.

Threatened to kill if you shout
Blood was flowing from his body. Seeing this, I started screaming, then they said that if you scream, they will kill you too. Then he threatened me to keep quiet and ran away. People nearby told that after hearing the shouting of driver Sandeep, the guard posted at the Jal Nigam office 50 meters away and they reached there. Then they took Santosh Kumar to the district hospital, where doctors declared him dead.
Jal Nigam’s assistant engineer Praveen Singh said that in the morning he received a call from driver Sandeep. He told that sir, come quickly and hey sir is Amit, he has killed sir. When I reached Sahib’s house, I came to know that some people had killed Sahib. When we took him to the hospital, he was dead.
SP said this in the matter
SP Somen Verma said that this morning the body of Jal Nigam executive engineer Santosh Kumar, who was living on rent in Vinobapuri locality, was found in his room. The family members of Santosh Kumar, resident of Prayagraj, have been informed. Prima facie the case seems to be one of murder. Four police teams have been deployed to unravel the case. The investigation has so far revealed the involvement of a departmental employee in the murder. Police is busy searching for the accused. The matter will be revealed soon.
