On August 17, 2024, Gurugram’s Ambience Mall was evacuated following a bomb threat received via email. The email, sent from a hidden address, claimed that bombs had been planted in the mall and threatened the lives of everyone inside. The police were alerted at around 9:27 AM, and a comprehensive search operation was initiated, involving bomb disposal units and dog squads.

The search operation lasted approximately four and a half hours, during which 70% of the mall was sanitized. Authorities reported that nothing suspicious was found, leading them to suspect that the threat was a hoax, similar to previous incidents where such threats turned out to be false alarms. Gurugram Police urged the public to remain calm and not to panic, emphasizing that these types of threats are often intended to instill fear rather than pose real danger.

In a related incident on the same day, DLF Mall of India in Noida also received a bomb threat, prompting similar security measures. However, that situation was later clarified as a security drill.
