The current tenure of Delhi Assembly is till February 2025. Keeping this in mind, political parties have started preparations. While the ruling Aam Aadmi Party is taking out a Padyatra, Congress has started the work of strengthening its organization and block unit. At the same time, for BJP, which has been facing exile from power in Delhi for more than two decades, this election is like do or die. In the last three Lok Sabha elections, BJP has won all seven parliamentary seats of Delhi.

But she is unable to repeat this performance in the assembly elections. This time too, BJP faces the challenge of improving its performance in the Delhi Assembly elections. The party has asked those former BJP MPs who were not given tickets in the general elections to prepare. Sources said that Ramesh Bidhuri, Parvesh Verma and Meenakshi Lekhi have been asked to be ready for the Delhi Assembly elections to be held in 2025. There is a high possibility that all three former MPs will contest the assembly elections as BJP candidates.

Nothing has been decided yet regarding Gautam Gambhir, Hansraj Hans and Dr. Harsh Vardhan. In the general elections 2024, BJP had fielded those Union ministers who were Rajya Sabha MPs. Sources say that the party can field former MPs from Delhi to contest the assembly elections on the same lines. If party sources are to be believed, Ramesh Bidhuri can be fielded from Tughlakabad or Badarpur, Meenakshi Lekhi can be fielded from Kasturba Nagar or Greater Kailash and Parvesh Verma can be fielded from Matiala, Najafgarh or Mehrauli.

Let us tell you that Ramesh Bidhuri was elected to Delhi Assembly from Tughlakabad three times from 2003 to 2013. In 2013, Parvesh Verma was elected to Delhi Assembly from Mehrauli. In this Lok Sabha election, BJP has fielded Praveen Khandelwal in place of Dr. Harsh Vardhan from Chandni Chowk, Bansuri Swaraj in place of Meenakshi Lekhi from New Delhi, Kamaljit Sehrawat in place of Parvesh Verma from West Delhi, Ramveer Singh Bidhuri in place of Ramesh Bidhuri from South Delhi and Harsh Malhotra was given ticket in place of Gautam Gambhir from East Delhi and Yogendra Chandolia was given ticket in place of Hansraj Hans from North West Delhi. Only the ticket of North East Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari was repeated.
