The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has announced the 70th National Film Awards on Friday. Known as the most prestigious cinema awards in the country, the National Awards are a huge achievement for any filmmaker. This time these awards have been given for those films which have been given censor certificate by the Film Censor Board between 1 January 2022 and 31 December 2022.

Director-actor Rishabh Shetty’s film ‘Kantara’, coming from the Kannada film industry, won the hearts of cinema fans with its mythology based story in 2022. Ever since watching the film, people were calling it a favorite for National Awards.

Along with this, actor Mammootty, who is counted among the legend actors of Malayalam cinema, was also considered a strong contender in the ‘Best Actor’ category for his two best films. Here is the list of National Award winners this time in feature films:
