After the Lok Sabha Elections (2024), by-elections are to be held on the vacant assembly seats in different states of the country. Along with announcing the dates of Jammu-Kashmir and Haryana assembly elections, the Election Commission can also announce Bihar by-elections. By-elections are to be held on four vacant assembly seats in the state.

Four MLAs of the state tried their luck in the Lok Sabha elections and achieved success. After this, Tarari, Ramgarh, Belaganj and Imaajganj assembly seats of Bihar became vacant. Now by-elections are to be held on these seats.

Which leaders became MPs from MLAs?

Bihar assembly elections were held in the year 2020. CPI(ML)’s Sudama Prasad was elected MLA from Tarari assembly seat here and now he has reached the Delhi House after becoming a parliamentarian. At the same time, former RJD MLA from Ramgarh assembly seat and former minister Sudhakar Singh has been elected MP from Buxar Lok Sabha seat.

RJD leader Surendra Yadav, who became the MP from Jehanabad, had won from Belaganj assembly seat in 2020. Apart from this, the Imamganj seat was won by former Deputy Chief Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi during the assembly elections in 2020, who is now a Union Minister in the NDA government.

Now by-elections are to be held on these four seats. It remains to be seen whether NDA is able to work its magic in the by-elections or whether the alliance will show its strength.
