The father of Agni missile and the country’s famous scientist Dr. Ram Narayan Agarwal is no more. He breathed his last in Hyderabad at the age of 84. According to DRDO officials, he was the first program director of Agni missile. People also fondly called him ‘Agni Agarwal’ and ‘Agni Man’.
Dr. Aggarwal had retired from the post of Director of ASL. He successfully ran the Agni missile program for two decades. He himself worked on the re-entry of the missile’s warhead, composite heat shield, board propulsion system, guidance and control etc.

At this time the entire DRDO is saddened by the demise of Dr. Aggarwal. Former DRDO Chief and Missile Scientist Dr. G. Sathish Reddy said that India has lost a legend. He helped a lot in developing long range missiles and building their launch facilities.
