The court has sentenced a person to death after being found guilty of murdering five people of the same family in Mainpuri, UP. The person proved guilty had a fight with the head of the family, after which he first set fire to the entire sleeping family at night and then locked the house and went away.

District government lawyer Pushpendra Singh Chauhan told news agency PTI that the court of District and Sessions Judge Sudhir Kumar on Tuesday convicted a person named Murari Kashyap of five murders.

He told that Murari is accused of entering the house of 50-year-old Ram Bahadur, his 48-year-old wife Sarla Devi and burning both of them along with their two daughters Sandhya (16), Shikha (18) and two-year-old grandson. While sleeping the sage had set himself on fire with some flammable liquid.

Police said that after setting the family on fire, Murari locked the house from outside and left. After which all five people present in the house died during treatment in the hospital. According to the FIR lodged at Mainpuri Kotwali police station, Murari had a fight with Ram Bahadur a few days before the incident and he killed the family in revenge.
