The business world is also very excited about the 77th Independence Day on 15th August. Especially after the PM’s appeal of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, the increase in the sale of flags has given small traders a chance to be very happy. At the end of last week, the PM changed his DP on social media to the tricolor. The Prime Minister appealed to the people to do the same and send selfies with the tricolor. Its effect has been such that the sales of Tricolor have increased by 60-70 percent. At some places, the sales of the tricolor have increased by up to 90 percent.

PM Modi’s appeal increased demand for tricolor

After the PM’s appeal, people have not only increased the purchase of flags, along with this, many people also distribute flags in bulk, which are now coming to the market in large numbers. This will benefit the artisans and shopkeepers who make flags. Along with the flag, there is a good demand for many small and big items of tricolor color across the country, which is expected to increase further till August 15. Although many tricolor colored items are in demand in the market, but flags have the highest number of buyers.

Customers are also in highest demand for fine cloth flags of their favorite size, these flags are available in the wholesale market for Rs 20 to Rs 30. However, flags worth up to Rs 500 are also available in bulk in the market.

Artisans are working in 3 shifts!
Many programs are organized in schools etc. for Independence Day, in which children carry things like balloons, small flags, badges, hand bands, caps, due to which these items are also getting bumper sales. Flag traders say that due to the increase in demand for the tricolor after the PM’s appeal, the artisans now have to work in three shifts.

The demand for flags has increased everywhere in the country. Manufacturers are now getting demand for flags from abroad. Due to the rapid increase in demand for the tricolor in different parts of the country, the tricolor is being sold extensively in shops, online platforms and local markets.

Flags worth Rs 500 crore sold in 2022
The relaxation given by the government in the rules for its manufacture in 2022 also played a big role in increasing the sale of flags. In fact, by changing the flag code in December 2021, the government had given permission to make flags from polyester and machines. Due to this, flags started being made easily across the country, whereas earlier the Indian tricolor was allowed to be made only from khadi or cloth. The campaign of Vocal for Local and Self-reliant India has also played an important role in increasing the production of Tricolor.

Even in the year 2022, the PM had appealed for Tricolor campaign in every house, due to which a flag sale business of Rs 500 crore was done in the country that year. During that time, about 30 crore tricolor flags were prepared, which provided employment to more than 10 lakh people, whereas before this, the annual sale of the national flag on the occasion of Independence Day was limited to about Rs 150-200 crore. MSME sector contributes more in making the Tricolor.
