After the coup, there has been an increase in the followers of Mohammad Yunus, Bangladesh Nationalist Party and its leaders and some members of the interim government.

After Sheikh Hasina left the country, an interim government has been formed here under the leadership of Mohammad Yunus. An analysis shows that during the last week, 18000 users made 1.8 lakh posts on social media site X focusing on ‘Mohammad Yunus’.

Increase in popularity of Mohammad Yunus

With the increase in popularity of Nobel laureate and Bangladesh interim government head Mohammad Yunus, the number of his followers on X has also seen an increase. Within ten days, his X handle has increased by 12,458 followers till August 10. However, last July only 329 people followed him.

Tariq Rehman’s followers also increased

Along with Mohammad Yunus, a big change has also been seen in the followers of former PM Khaleda Zia’s son and BNP leader Tariq Rehman. In the month of July, 6,672 people followed him, whereas in the month of June only 213 people followed him. For example, as of August 10, his number of followers has increased by 6,257, and with this he has reached 59.2 thousand followers on X. Let us also tell you that Tariq Rehman has been involved in increasing anti-India activities.

Supporters following BNP

If we talk about political parties, a significant increase has been seen in the number of followers on the X handle of Bangladesh Awami League. While Awami League has increased only 1444 followers during this period, an increase of 7,572 followers has been seen on the BNP handle. In the last four months it has been seen that the pace of followers of BNP has slowed down.
