After the rape and murder case of a lady doctor in Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College, the fire of protest has spread across the country. Resident doctors across the country have gone on strike since Monday. Resident doctors’ organization ‘Federation of All India Resident Doctors Association’ has announced a nationwide strike. Resident doctor associations of all government hospitals are joining this strike. Meanwhile, during police interrogation, many big revelations have been made about accused criminal Sanjay Roy. It is being told that the accused committed the crime after watching a pornographic film while drinking alcohol.

1. Nationwide strike of resident doctors, ultimatum from IMA
The case of rape and murder of lady doctor is gaining momentum. In protest against this, a nationwide strike by resident doctors has started. During this period, work in OPD, elective surgery and lab will remain closed. Work is also closed in RG Kar Medical College. The doctors there say that the police has arrested only one accused, whereas many other people may also be involved in this heinous incident. He claims that behind the arrest of accused Sanjay Roy, a deliberate attempt is being made to hide some big thing. The Indian Medical Association has given an ultimatum of 48 hours to complete the investigation.
Along with this, a warning has been given of nationwide protests. IMA has said, “We demand that the police authorities take action within 48 hours and with precision, otherwise we will be forced to launch a nationwide crackdown. There is a need for a fair, transparent and sensitive investigation. The culprits should be arrested.” After this, the entire medical community of India is shocked by this brutal murder. 2. Medical Superintendent and ACP removed from post
After this horrifying incident, the Health Department has removed the Superintendent of RG Kar Medical College, Dr. Sanjay Vashishtha. He was in charge there for a long time. In his place, hospital dean Bulbul Mukhopadhyay has been given the responsibility. There was a demand for the removal of the superintendent ever since the body of the lady doctor was recovered on Friday. But after 48 hours the health department issued an order to remove him. Along with this, Kolkata Police has also removed the police in-charge of the hospital, SP Chandan Guha. In this case, action has been taken against him on charges of negligence.
3. Watched porn while drinking, then raped and murdered a doctor
Many big revelations are being made during the investigation of this case. Police sources say that accused criminal Sanjay Roy was addicted to watching porn films while drinking alcohol. He had come and gone inside the hospital several times on the night of the incident. The crime is being confirmed on the basis of interrogation of the accused, circumstantial evidence and CCTV footage. He went behind the hospital to drink alcohol at 11 pm on Friday night. Watched a porn movie while drinking alcohol there. After this, at 4 in the morning he was seen entering the chest medicine department from the back door. After this, he was seen coming out of the seminar hall at around 4.45 pm.
4. The accused criminal tampered with the evidence after the incident
After committing the crime, the accused tried to tamper with the evidence. Police have found evidence which shows that the accused had tried to wash blood stains from the crime scene. After returning home, he also washed his clothes, which he had worn while committing the crime. But the police have recovered his shoes, in which blood stains can be clearly seen. When the police went to arrest him, he was completely drunk. The accused has a disturbed mentality. Because the kind of porn movies he used to watch on his mobile, people do not usually watch them.
5. Initial investigation suspects rape after murder
Kolkata Police is waiting for the final post-mortem report of the lady doctor. Another police officer said that circumstantial evidence indicated the possibility that the arrested accused had first murdered the female doctor and then raped her. The doctor was sleeping alone in the seminar hall of the hospital. He protested, but was strangled to death. The post-mortem report states, “The victim was bleeding from both her eyes and mouth. There were injuries on her face. She was also bleeding from her private parts. On her stomach, left leg, neck, right hand, finger and lip. There were injuries too.
Clues found from Bluetooth earbuds, this is how the accused was caught
Let us tell you that the Lady Doctor was brutally murdered in the early hours of Friday. As soon as information about this incident was received on Saturday morning, police reached the spot. During the initial investigation, the police found a Bluetooth earbud from the crime scene, through which they were able to reach the accused. PGT and female doctors also identified the culprit from the CCTV footage. After this the accused Sanjay Roy was arrested. The accused is a civic volunteer. Such volunteers are contractual employees who assist police personnel in managing traffic and unauthorized parking. Their job is temporary.
Mamata Banerjee asked for death penalty for the criminal
Police have registered a case against the accused under sections 64 (rape) and 103 (murder) of BNS. After his arrest, he was produced in the local court, from where he was sent to police custody for 14 days. The accused will now remain in police custody till August 23, where he will be interrogated about this case. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has demanded death penalty for the criminal. She said that if the victim’s family demands a CBI inquiry, she will support it. They have no objection. Instructions have been given to take the case to the fast track court.
