2. Medical Superintendent and ACP removed from post

After this horrifying incident, the Health Department has removed the Superintendent of RG Kar Medical College, Dr. Sanjay Vashishtha. He was in charge there for a long time. In his place, hospital dean Bulbul Mukhopadhyay has been given the responsibility. There was a demand for the removal of the superintendent ever since the body of the lady doctor was recovered on Friday. But after 48 hours the health department issued an order to remove him. Along with this, Kolkata Police has also removed the police in-charge of the hospital, SP Chandan Guha. In this case, action has been taken against him on charges of negligence.

3. Watched porn while drinking, then raped and murdered a doctor

Many big revelations are being made during the investigation of this case. Police sources say that accused criminal Sanjay Roy was addicted to watching porn films while drinking alcohol. He had come and gone inside the hospital several times on the night of the incident. The crime is being confirmed on the basis of interrogation of the accused, circumstantial evidence and CCTV footage. He went behind the hospital to drink alcohol at 11 pm on Friday night. 4. The accused criminal tampered with the evidence after the incident

5. Initial investigation suspects rape after murder

Mamata Banerjee asked for death penalty for the criminal

Police have registered a case against the accused under sections 64 (rape) and 103 (murder) of BNS. After his arrest, he was produced in the local court, from where he was sent to police custody for 14 days. The accused will now remain in police custody till August 23, where he will be interrogated about this case. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has demanded death penalty for the criminal. She said that if the victim’s family demands a CBI inquiry, she will support it. They have no objection. Instructions have been given to take the case to the fast track court.
