Many big revelations have come to light after the police investigation in the rape and murder case of a lady doctor in RG Kar Medical College, Kolkata. Police sources say that accused criminal Sanjay Roy was addicted to watching porn films while drinking alcohol. He had come inside the hospital several times on the night of the incident. On the basis of interrogation of the accused, circumstantial evidence and CCTV footage, many revelations have been made in this dreadful case.
According to sources, on Friday night at 11 pm, accused Sanjay Roy went to his house behind the hospital to drink alcohol. There he started watching porn films while drinking alcohol. There are basically two ways to enter the Chest Medicine Department of a Medical College. One of them was closed, while the back door was open. That night at 4 o’clock a total of 5 to 6 people were seen entering from the back door. The police interrogated all of them.
Tampering with evidence after the commission of a crime
After that it came to light that the relatives of many of them were admitted for treatment in the Chest Medicine Department. But accused Sanjay Roy had no concrete reason for going there. The investigation also revealed that the accused had tried to tamper with the evidence after committing the crime. Police have found evidence which shows that the accused had tried to wash blood stains from the crime scene.
Accused of having a distorted mentality and addiction to watching porn.
CCTV footage also shows that the accused came out of the seminar room at around 4.45 in the morning. After this he went to the barrack of the fourth battalion and slept. The police arrested him from the same barrack. Even at the time of his arrest he was completely drunk. Police sources said that the accused has a disturbed mentality. Because the kind of porn movies he used to watch on his mobile, people do not usually watch them.
Police waiting for final post mortem report
Kolkata Police is waiting for the final post-mortem report of the lady doctor. A police officer said, “We are waiting for the final post-mortem report in this case.” Police said preliminary post-mortem report indicated that she was murdered after sexual assault and the possibility of suicide was ruled out. There are also indications of brutality with the victim in the report.
First raped then murdered the doctor
The post-mortem report states, “The victim was bleeding from both her eyes and mouth. There were injuries on her face. There was also bleeding from her private parts. On her stomach, left leg, neck, right hand, finger and lip. There are also injuries. Another police officer said that circumstantial evidence indicates the possibility that the arrested accused first murdered the woman doctor and then raped her.
The doctor was sleeping alone in the seminar hall.
“There is evidence that the doctor was sleeping alone in the seminar hall of the hospital when she was attacked by the accused. The woman tried to resist but was strangled to death,” the police officer said. Because she was dead, the accused then strangled her. There is every possibility that the accused might have raped her after the murder.”
Accused’s shoes found with blood stains
The police investigating this case have also seized the clothes and shoes worn by the accused during the crime. On whether anyone else was involved in the crime along with him, the officer said, “There is no evidence so far. After committing the crime, the accused went back home and washed the clothes he was wearing. A search was conducted at his residence. His shoes were found with blood stains.”
The accused is in police custody for 14 days
On Friday, the body of a female doctor was found in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College in North Kolkata. A case has been registered against the accused under sections 64 (rape) and 103 (murder) of BNS. After his arrest, he was produced in a Kolkata court, which sent him to police custody till August 23. The police is interrogating him there.
