The mercury in Europe in July 2024 was 1.49 degrees Celsius higher than the average from 1991 to 2020. During this period, Southern and Eastern Europe remained very hot, while temperatures in North-Western Europe were near or below average. Temperatures were above average in Canada, the United States, most parts of Africa, the Middle East, Asia and East Antarctica.
