After the coup in Bangladesh it seemed that the situation would become normal. But the way India Boycott campaign is going on in Bangladesh on the lines of Maldives, it seems that there is a conspiracy against India as per a well thought out strategy. Because the issue of reservation is no longer there at all. Now the matter has directly reached the attack on Hindus and boycott of everything Indian in the name of Awami League. First creating anti-India atmosphere in Maldives and then anti-India atmosphere in Bangladesh. This is not a coincidence but an experiment. Because both Maldives and Bangladesh have been countries that have worked for India in a way. Pakistan and China have already been enemies of India. Now the number of two countries has increased further. If Sheikh Hasina’s exit plan from India is not executed soon, India may be in trouble even from the West. In this way the crisis of Bangladesh is increasing day by day.

1- Challenge of keeping Sheikh Hasina in India

There was no such challenge for Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last two terms, which he faced any problem in facing. After the coup in Bangladesh, the way the Indian government took immediate decision and expelled Sheikh Hasina from Bangladesh with honor, has been a big success of the Modi government. Angry protesters in Dhaka could have done anything. The story was completely different 50 years ago. Remember, on August 15, 1975, the coup perpetrators had killed Hasina’s father and founder of the Republic of Bangladesh, Mujibur Rahman, and most of his family. Which the Indian government could not stop. The world knows that Mujibur Rahman was also a friend of India. Something similar happened in 1992 also. When Pakistan-backed terrorist groups captured Kabul. President Najibullah, who was close to India, was in trouble. And the Indian government had proved unsuccessful in expelling them. The Taliban took Najibullah out of the UN Embassy in Kabul and hanged him from a lamp post. But today Sheikh Hasina has become a big challenge for Delhi and Modi government. It would be difficult to remove Hasina from India and confronting her opponents can put India in further trouble. There is a demand from Bangladesh to arrest Sheikh Hasina and hand her over to India. BNP President Khaleda Zia has threatened that if India does not cooperate with Bangladesh in Sheikh Hasina’s case, then it will be difficult for India to get Bangladesh’s cooperation in future. The Indian government was very much associated with Sheikh Hasina and the growing hatred against her will definitely backfire against India. The tension between Hasina’s support and her increasing unpopularity domestically has been clearly visible in the last few years.

2-Deteriorating relations with neighbors

India’s concerns about the neighboring country have increased after the ongoing violent protests in Bangladesh and former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina leaving the country. India, which was already facing the brunt of terrorism from Pakistan, is now fearing a similar threat from Bangladesh. At present the biggest question is that if the situation remains like this, will Bangladesh become a thorn in the side of India? Only time will answer this question, but the biggest problem for India is that in the last few years, it has been losing its neighboring and allied countries one by one. India’s international relations with neighboring countries are also deteriorating.

India has lost five of its allies in the last five years. Sheikh Hasina’s government in Bangladesh was a great ally for India. But if Khaleda Zia’s government is formed then it is certain that she will sing the praises of China and Pakistan. In the past, relations have also deteriorated with Maldives, which was once trustworthy to India. The India-backed government in the neighboring country Nepal has also fallen. After the arrival of Taliban in Afghanistan, bilateral relations have not even started yet. At present relations with India and Bhutan are quite good, but Bhutan’s growing closeness with China can become a cause for concern at any time. In October 2021, China and Bhutan signed the ‘Three-Step Roadmap’ agreement.

3-Security of Hindus in Bangladesh

Hindus in Bangladesh are considered supporters of Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League, due to which their businesses and homes are being attacked. Well, attacks on Hindus in Bangladesh are nothing new. When Bangladesh became an independent country in 1971, the number of Hindus here was about 30 percent of the total population. At present only 8 percent Hindus remain here. Hindus have been continuously targeted. Due to which Bengali Hindus have gradually left Bangladesh and gone to other countries. Whenever instability increases in Bangladesh, there is oppression of Hindus. And a few lakh Hindus come to India. However, in 1971 and thereafter, a large number of Bangladeshi Muslims also took refuge in India. This is the reason why many districts bordering West Bengal have become majority Muslim. In Assam too, a large number of Bengali Hindus and Muslims have migrated from Bangladesh.

Mohammad Yunus, head of the new interim government of Bangladesh, has appealed to Bangladeshis to provide security to minorities. Even after this, lakhs of Hindus have gathered on the border of India, who are trying to migrate to India. BSF soldiers are trying to stop them by forming a human chain. BSF Deputy Inspector General Amit Kumar Tyagi said that the soldiers had to open fire in the air to control the crowd. The problem is that the Indian border with Bangladesh is close to 4096 km. The Indian government cannot see atrocities being committed on Hindus and cannot keep them as refugees in India. Farhan Haq, deputy spokesman for the UN Secretary-General, said in a statement that the United Nations is against attacks and incitement of violence based on race and we want to ensure that violence in Bangladesh is controlled.
