NEET PG exam will be conducted on Sunday, August 11 in two shifts only. During the important hearing held in the Supreme Court today, the bench has refused to stay the examination. CJI said during the hearing that how can we postpone NEET PG now.

During the hearing on the petition demanding postponement of NEET PG exam, senior advocate Sanjay Hegde said that nowadays people only ask for postponement of the exam. He said that there has been a demand for re-schedule because there is one exam in the morning and one exam in the afternoon and then it will be normalized.

2 lakh students will not be affected at the behest of 5 petitioners: SC

CJI said that we cannot make a new education policy and this is not an ideal world. In principle we will not reschedule. 2 lakh students and 4 lakh parents will be affected. Will the careers of 2 lakh students be put in danger at the behest of 5 petitioners? We cannot jeopardize the careers of so many candidates because of these petitioners. We don’t know who is behind these petitions. The Supreme Court has ordered on this matter that we are not considering postponing the NEET PG exam. Advocate Anas Tanveer was representing the students in the Supreme Court.

Due to these reasons, demand was made to postpone NEET PG exam

NBEMS has announced to conduct NEET PG examination in 2 shifts on 11th August. When the examination is conducted in more than one shift, normalization formula is adopted for evaluation. However, the board has not given information about the normalization formula in any notification issued so far. The candidates had approached the Supreme Court regarding this.

The petition said that one batch of candidates may have to face a more difficult question paper than the other batch and the normalization formula should be informed before conducting the examination so that there is no possibility of arbitrariness.

It was also said in the petition that the petitioners and many similar candidates have been allotted such cities, where they may have to face many difficulties in reaching them.
