Samajwadi Party MP in Rajya Sabha Jaya Bachchan raised questions on the tone of the Chairman. Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar got angry and advised to behave decently. Opposition members walked out raising slogans of ‘No bullying will not work’. A censure motion was also passed in the Rajya Sabha terming the conduct of the opposition as indecent. In fact, after the completion of Zero Hour proceedings in Rajya Sabha, before the start of Question Hour, the opposition raised the issue of the comments made by Ghanshyam Tiwari regarding Mallikarjun Kharge. Jairam Ramesh said that some objectionable things were said. On this you had said that you will give ruling. He asked what is that ruling? In response to this, Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar said that both Mallikarjun Kharge and Ghanshyam Tiwari had come to my chamber. Every single thing was examined.
He said that Ghanshyam Tiwari had said that if there is anything objectionable then I am ready to apologize in the House. Khargeji also agreed that there was nothing objectionable, he did not understand it at that time. He said that Ghanshyam Tiwari had said the best things in praise of Mallikarjun Kharge. There was nothing objectionable. On this, Mallikarjun Kharge said that the House should also know these things. The Chairman said that Ghanshyam Tiwari expressed his views in parliamentary language.
Jairam Ramesh demanded an apology. On this the Chairman said that no one apologizes for praise. He will not apologize. On this Pramod Tiwari said that he does not want to repeat the words he had said. The tone was not suitable for the leader of the opposition. Jairam Ramesh said that there was an allegation of nepotism, there was talk of nepotism.
The Chairman said that if there is any issue then please give it in writing. The angry Chairman warned of naming Jairam Ramesh. On this, Ajay Maken said, why would you name him sir, he would name you only to tell one thing that happened to the leader of the opposition. You say – why are you laughing, why are you smiling, why are you sitting? With folded hands they are saying please don’t do this.
