Lucknow: After good performance in Lok Sabha elections, now India Alliance wants to go together in every election, at least in UP this formula has proved to be the most accurate. By-elections are to be held soon on 10 vacant assembly seats in UP. One of these seats has become vacant due to the conviction of Sisamau (Kanpur) SP MLA Irfan Solanki, while nine assembly members have now become Lok Sabha MPs.

Many MLAs became MPs, seats vacant in the state
The seats of four SP MLAs Akhilesh Yadav, Awadhesh Prasad, Lalji Verma and Ziaur Rehman Burke have become vacant after their election as Lok Sabha members. Akhilesh Yadav won the 2022 assembly elections from Karhal, Awadhesh Prasad from Milkipur, Lalji Verma from Katehri and Ziaur Rehman from Kundarki. These seats have now become vacant after BJP MLA from Khair Anup Pradhan Valmiki, Atul Garg from Ghaziabad and BJP MLA from Phulpur Praveen Patel have also been elected as Lok Sabha members. Whereas, Nishad Party MLA from Majhwa (Mirzapur) Vinod Kumar Bind and Mirapur RLD MLA Chandan Chauhan has also now become an MP.

Will there be an alliance between SP and Congress?
However, this matter is not as easy as it seems for the opposition. According to SP sources, the party is in a mood to give maximum two seats to Congress, of which Ghaziabad and Mirzapur are the most discussed. Whereas, according to Congress sources, the party wants at least 5 seats from SP, with the view that it should contest on those seats which it had won earlier, and let Congress contest on those where it had lost. However, none of the leaders of both the parties is ready to say these things openly. Apart from this, SP also wants participation from Congress in Maharashtra and Haryana.

Which party’s where, what is the equation?
Let us tell you that in Maharashtra, two MLAs of SP had won in the 2019 assembly elections. Even before this, SP had been winning elections there. On this basis, SP has decided to stake claim in Maharashtra. At the same time, the Muslim-Yadav equation is effective on 20 seats in Haryana, which SP considers in its favor. However, SP spokesperson Fakhrul Hasan Chand says that there is an alliance between SP and Congress in UP, but any decision regarding seats in the by-elections will be taken by the SP leadership when the time comes.

Chand says that Awadhesh Prasad’s son Ajit Prasad is certain to contest from Ayodhya and he has been asked to make preparations there. According to sources, names of Tej Pratap Yadav from Karhal, Chhaya Verma, daughter of Lalji Verma from Ambedkar Nagar, Haji Rizwan Kundarki, Kadir Rana Meerapur are in discussion. Whereas, someone in Irfan Solanki’s family can get a ticket from Kanpur. However, SP has not yet officially announced any names and the party can finally rely once again on the Lok Sabha election formula for changing the name.

BJP is taking a jibe at the opposition
However, BJP is taking a dig at the opposition on this entire issue. BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi told Aaj Tak that the history of Samajwadi Party regarding alliance has not been very good, SP’s alliance with mass political parties is made before the elections, it breaks after the elections. There are reports of tension, because SP is also demanding seats in Maharashtra and Haryana.

In this by-election it will be decided how far this alliance will go. He said that BJP is fully prepared with its alliance. Whenever elections will be announced on these seats. The party organization has started making all kinds of strategies so that the lotus of BJP blooms on all the seats and the party wins. A party meeting is being held and Chief Minister Yogi himself is taking stock of the development works by deploying the ministers in charge, so that the lotus flower of BJP blooms in every situation.

Seat sharing is not going to be easy
UP Congress President Ajay Rai told Aaj Tak, ‘We will win 10 out of 10 seats in the by-elections. SP and Congress are contesting the elections together. The atmosphere is completely in favor. The general public is fed up with their show-off. On BJP’s claim of no talks on seat sharing, he said why are these people worried about our coordination. He is unable to maintain his coordination. Now neither is Yogi ji getting coordination with Amit Shah ji nor is Yogi ji getting coordination with Keshav Maurya.

We are fighting within ourselves. Panchayat is being held every day. Sangh does Panchayat, sometimes it is done in Delhi Darbar. Make your own coordination, don’t worry about us. At present, one thing is certain that whether it is India alliance or BJP seat sharing is not going to be easy for anyone regarding the by-elections.
