In the capital Delhi, CBI has arrested an ED officer on charges of taking bribe. It has come to light that the CBI on Thursday arrested an assistant director of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on charges of taking a bribe of Rs 20 lakh. The arrested ED officer has been identified as Sandeep Singh. He was taking bribe in exchange for giving relief to the jeweler’s son in the case registered in ED. A senior CBI official has confirmed this matter. According to the official, the ED officer has been arrested from Lajpat Nagar area of ​​Delhi.

Actually, CBI received a complaint and acting on it, a trap was laid and the ED officer was caught red handed while taking bribe. Officials said that CBI is in the process of registering an FIR in this case. Further action will be taken after the FIR is registered. According to the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) had raided the jeweler’s premises on August 3 and 4, after which Assistant Director Sandeep Singh had allegedly threatened to arrest the jeweler’s son if he did not pay Rs 20 lakh to them.
