There has been a coup in Bangladesh, but the chaos in the country is not showing any sign of abating. It said that Air India had canceled its morning flight to Dhaka on Tuesday, but operated its evening flight. After this, Vistara and Indigo have also announced to start scheduled services to the capital of Bangladesh from August 7.

What did Air India say?
The situation remains unstable amid protests in the neighboring country Bangladesh. The country is plunged into uncertainty and after the uproar over the reservation issue, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been forced to leave her post and flee the country. According to sources, Air India will operate its 2 daily flights from Delhi to Dhaka on Wednesday. On Tuesday evening, Air India said it will operate its evening flights AI237/238 on the Delhi-Dhaka-Delhi sector.

The airline also said that due to the prevailing situation there, passengers with confirmed bookings on any flights to and from Dhaka between August 4 and 7 are being given a one-time relaxation in rescheduling. This offer will be applicable for tickets booked on or before August 5.

According to sources, Air India operated a special charter flight on short notice despite the challenges at Dhaka airport late on Tuesday night. It carried 199 passengers and 6 children from Dhaka to Delhi.

How many flights of Indigo and Vistara?
The report also quoted sources as saying that apart from Air India, Tata Group’s majority-owned Vistara Airlines and IndiGo Airlines will also operate their scheduled flights to Dhaka. Let us tell you that earlier both Vistara and Indigo had canceled their Tuesday flights to the capital of Bangladesh.

Situation still bad in Bangladesh
Now preparations are going on to form an interim government in Bangladesh. The protesters have accepted the proposal of Nobel laureate Mohammad Yunus to lead this government. This decision was taken during a meeting at Banga Bhawan (President’s House) chaired by the country’s President Mohammad Shahabuddin. On the other hand, attacks on the leaders of Awami League, the party of former Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, are continuing. Bodies of 20 more Awami League leaders have been recovered from across Bangladesh. The houses and business establishments of many Awami League leaders and workers are also being vandalized and looted.
