According to the report of Dhaka Tribune, Mahmood, who was the Foreign Minister in Sheikh Hasina’s government, is planning to leave Bangladesh. He was detained from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. He had gone to take a flight to India. Then he was taken into custody.

Which ministers of Sheikh Hasina cabinet have left Bangladesh?

Even before the coup in Bangladesh, many top leaders and former cabinet ministers of Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League party had left the country. Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport Minister Abdul Quader had fled the country on Sunday night itself. Along with this, Anisul Haq, who was a minister in Hasina’s government, had left the country and gone to some unknown place even before Hasina’s resignation.

Junaid Ahmed, who could have played the role of Telecom Minister in Sheikh Hasina’s government, has also been detained. He was not allowed to leave the country. He was detained and handed over to the Air Force.

Sheikh Hasina’s investment advisor and MP Salman F. Rehman also fled the country on Sunday night. Dhaka South City Corporation mayor and Hasina’s nephew Sheikh Fazal Noor Taposh is also said to have left on a flight to Singapore on Saturday morning. Along with this, Shamim Osman, the controversial MP in Hasina government, also left the country last week.

Former Education Minister Mohibul Hasan Chaudhary and Rural Development Minister Mohammad Tajul Islam have also left the country. According to sources, former Finance Minister Abul Hasan Mahmood Ali and Sports Minister Nazmul Hasan Papon have also left the country. Supreme Court judge Mohammad Badruzzaman has also left Bangladesh.

His arch enemy Khaleda Zia can come out of jail any moment.
