In view of the possibility of Iran’s attack on Israel, America has started tremendous preparations. As a precaution, the US Defense Department Pentagon has deployed a Carrier Strike Group i.e. aircraft carrier in this area. Along with this, fighter jet squadrons, cruisers and destroyers have also been deployed on the front. The USS Abraham Lincoln Aircraft Carrier Group has been sent to the Middle East.
Apart from this, the USS Theodore Roosevelt Carrier Strike Group already present in the Middle East has been recalled. This deployment is proof of how the risk of war between Iran and Israel is increasing. This is the first time after the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023 and the ongoing Israeli retaliatory action on Gaza, when military mobilization is going on in the area on such a large scale.
The Pentagon initially deployed two carrier strike groups to the region to respond and control organizations like Hamas, Houthi and Hezbollah, but additional deployments are now underway. Apart from this, America has sent destroyers and cruisers equipped with ballistic missile defense systems in the Middle East and Mediterranean Sea. Two American destroyers were involved in stopping the Iranian missile attack against Israel.
Pentagon has also made it clear that the Missile Defense Force has also been put on alert. This decision is proof that America is ready to help Israel in any situation. America says that it does not want to promote war in the Middle East, but it also does not want to do less in helping Israel. This is the reason why America is continuously reiterating its support for Israel.
On the other hand, the Institute of Study of War in one of its reports, quoting Iran’s Defa News, has mentioned the targets where Iran can attack. By targeting these targets, Iran wants to weaken Israel’s defense system. This list includes Israeli military bases, government offices, Defense Ministry, Israeli Knesset building in Jerusalem, eight major airbases, airports, gas fields, power plants etc.
This is so that Israel’s back can be broken by these attacks. There is a kind of psychological game behind releasing this list i.e. mental strategy. According to experts, Iran wants that in order to secure so many targets, Israel can try to spread the security circle over a large area to protect against air and missile attacks, which it can take advantage of and launch an all-out attack on it.
It is understood that if Iran attacks this time, the missiles and drones used in this attack will be more powerful than before. Earlier on April 13, Iran had also fired missiles at Israel, but Israel’s Iron Dome system had foiled most of the attacks. At present sporadic air strikes are continuing from both sides. So far Israel has been successful in stopping rocket attacks.

Meanwhile, in Iran’s capital Tehran on Monday, Iranian head of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard, General Mohammad Bagheri, met Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu. During this, regional issues and possible cooperation were discussed. The ambassador living in Tehran and many prominent personalities were also present in this meeting.
At the same time, America reacted to the visit of Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu and raised questions as to why his visit was at such a opportune time. However, he has also expressed the possibility of getting support in the war against Ukraine. Not only this, US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller has called on diplomats to reduce tension in the Middle East, calling the situation critical.
