Lakshya Sen Bronze Medal Match: Indian team’s star badminton player Lakshya Sen’s dream of winning a medal in Paris Olympics 2024 has been shattered. Lakshya’s bronze medal match was against Malaysia’s Lee Ji Jia on Monday (5 August), in which he lost 21-13, 16-21, 11-21.

Father serving in Prakash Padukone Academy

Lakshya’s father DK Sen has played badminton at the national level and is also a national level coach. DK Sen is currently serving in Prakash Padukone Academy. Lakshya Sen’s brother Chirag Sen has also represented India in badminton at the international level.

To give good badminton training to his son, DK Sen left Almora and settled in Bengaluru. Lakshya Sen had enrolled in Prakash Padukone Academy in Bengaluru, where he surprised Prakash Padukone with his talent during the trials.

Lakshya’s hard work paid off and he started climbing the stairs of success at a very young age. Sen had proved his mettle by winning the bronze medal in the 2016 Junior World Championship. Then in the year 2018, he won the yellow medal in the same tournament.

Lakshya got big success in World Championship

Lakshya Sen’s biggest success at the senior level was in the World Championship last year. Lakshya had won the bronze medal in that tournament held in Huelva. Apart from Lakshya, among the Indian male players, only Prakash Padukone and Kidambi Srikanth have been successful in winning medals in the World Championship.

Lakshya Sen won his first Super 500 title through India Open in January 2021. Then in the final match of the tournament held in Delhi, Lakshya had defeated Loh Keen Yew of Singapore. Lakshya Sen had made it to the finals of the All England Championship in the year 2022, which was very special for him. Although he could not win the final match.
