Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had to resign from the post and flee the country. The student movement that started last month took such a violent form on Monday that the protesters started moving towards the Prime Minister’s residence in Dhaka and PM Hasina had to leave the country hurriedly. Bangladesh Army Chief General Waqar-uz-Zaman has said that an interim government will be formed to run the country. Some prominent people of Pakistan are very happy with the huge turmoil in Bangladesh and they are celebrating the fall of Sheikh Hasina’s government.

Former Pakistani diplomat Abdul Basit, who was Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India, expressed his happiness by releasing a video as soon as the news of Sheikh Hasina’s resignation came out.

He said, ‘Many congratulations to the people of Bangladesh. Sheikh Hasina has fled from Bangladesh and reached India. Prime Minister Modi and India will be very upset by this thing… In fact, recently he had even started saying that whatever is going on in Bangladesh, Pakistan has a hand in it because Pakistan supports the opposition parties of Bangladesh. I would like to say that unless the public is with you, no one’s support works.

Basit did not desist from targeting India in the name of Bangladesh

Abdul Basit further said that if Sheikh Hasina had resigned a month earlier, the lives of 300 students would not have been lost. Meanwhile, Abdul Basit did not desist from dragging India also.

He said, ‘Sheikh Hasina made Bangladesh a satellite country of India and she kept playing into the hands of India. When Pakistan tried to shake hands with him in friendship, he did not respond. His hatred against Pakistan created many obstacles in taking the relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh forward. Now whenever a new government comes to Bangladesh, Pakistan will welcome it.

Pakistan’s defense expert Qamar Cheema has also expressed happiness over Sheikh Hasina’s ouster from power. He has written on social media site X that Sheikh Hasina has ended her political innings in a very bad way.

He wrote, ‘Sheikh Hasina has ended her political innings in a very bad way because she had become an autocratic leader.’

Well-known journalists of Pakistan have also expressed their happiness over Sheikh Hasina’s removal from power. Journalist Ihtisham Ul Haq has made several tweets in this regard on his social media account X.

In a tweet, he wrote, ’15 years of Hasina’s dictatorship…the era of banning opposition parties and putting their leaders in jail is over. The people of Bangladesh have ousted the Prime Minister who came to power through fake mandate and fraud. This is a big victory for the people of Bangladesh.

Hamid Mir, senior journalist of Pakistan’s TV channel Geo TV, wrote on X, ‘Arrest of political opponents, ban on social media, ban on people, hanging… this woman used unnecessary force to save power. Used. But the state had to bow before the people’s power.

Hamid Mir further wrote, ‘The lesson of Hasina’s escape is that economic development is not everything, people do not accept restrictions.’
