Bangladesh’s leading newspaper ‘Dhaka Tribune’ has written in one of its reports quoting sources that Sheikh Hasina has left for India with her younger sister Sheikh Rehana.

The newspaper wrote in its report, ‘Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina left Bangabhaban (Prime Minister’s residence) in a military helicopter on Monday at around 2:30 pm with her sister Sheikh Rehana to a safe place. According to sources, she is going to West Bengal, India.

Meanwhile, according to news agency AFP, Sheikh Hasina and Sheikh Rehana have reached a ‘safe place’.

Hasina wanted to record speech before leaving the country

Bangladeshi newspaper reported that Sheikh Hasina wanted to record her farewell speech before leaving the country. However, the situation became such that he had to flee the country while preparing for his speech.

Hammers used on Bangabandhu’s statue

The anger of the protesters towards Sheikh Hasina can be gauged from the fact that they attacked the statue of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who is called the President of Bangladesh.

In a video surfaced from Bangladesh, protesters are seen climbing on the statue of Bangabandhu and wielding hammers. Haseena is the daughter of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Protestors also entered PM residence

More than 100 people were killed in violence between students and government supporters in Bangladesh on Sunday. On Monday, August 5, amid curfew, a large number of protesters once again took to the streets.
