A student died after an electric pole fell on him following intermittent rains in Banda, UP. After the pillar fell, the young man was buried under it. The family members created a ruckus, blaming the electricity department officials.
SDM and DSP reached the spot after the incident and explained to the family members, after which the police sent the body for post-mortem. Here, on the complaint of family members, the police have registered a case against the officers and employees of the electricity department. The police is busy investigating this matter.
This case is of Lai Mandi area of Azad Nagar, where two poles of the electricity department near a shop had bent due to weak foundation. Due to rain coupled with strong winds, both the poles fell on the ground. 19 year old student Ankur Kushwaha was passing by and got hit by it.
Ankur was returning home with momos
Ankur was returning home with momos from the market when this accident happened. Due to being buried under the pillar, blood started flowing from his head. After the incident, the local people immediately informed the police-administration and electricity department officials.
After this, Ankur was taken out from there and taken to the hospital and the doctors declared him dead. There was chaos among the family members after Ankur’s death. Family members said that the deceased was the younger of two brothers and was a B.Sc. student.
People had complained a week ago
The family members alleged that the people of the locality had told the electricity department officials a week ago that the pole had bent and any accident could happen, the poles were in danger of falling, but no one paid attention to it.
Alleging negligence, the family members have demanded action against the officers and employees of the electricity department. SDM Ravendra Singh, Deputy SP Gavendra Pal Gautam and other officers reached the spot and pacified the matter by assuring action.
