The ongoing Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games is the biggest event ever held in France. The Olympic Games have started from 26th July and will continue till 11th August. In this series, Moldova’s judo player Adil Osmanov won the bronze medal. In the men’s 73 kg category, he defeated Italy’s Manuel Lombardo and jumped with joy. He shouted with joy and sat down on his knees. In this jump, his shoulder got dislocated and he got badly injured.

He held his injured shoulder with his left hand and recovered in time to reach the podium with the other medal winners.

Later, he revealed that he had actually been advised to undergo surgery on his shoulder ahead of the Paris Olympics and was suffering from illness before the match, Metro reported. He said ‘Yes, it was very difficult. And I felt bad during the warm-up, but this has happened to me before – and even then I got a medal. I had no option to withdraw from the match.

Dedicating his medal to his late father, he said, ‘He himself had dreamed of reaching the Olympics. He could not succeed due to lack of money. Then he had a dream that one of his children would reach the Olympics and win a medal. Today that dream has been fulfilled.

Today, on the sixth day of Paris Olympics 2024, India is expected to win three more medals. Till now India has won only two medals. Both these medals were bronze, won by Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh in shooting. On the sixth day, Indian athletes will participate in 15 events, out of which India has a chance to win medals in two events.
