Haier 1.6 Ton Heavy Duty Split AC Review: This year the heat has broken the records of decades. The demand for AC across the country has become much higher than before. There are many types of air conditioners available in the market. In such a situation, people are confused as to which AC will be better for them.
Now ACs have also become smart and I have also reviewed one such Haier heavy duty AC. The specialty of heavy duty AC is that it provides cooling faster than normal air conditioners. If a normal AC cools a room in 15 minutes, then if you have a Heavy Duty AC, it will cool the entire room in less than half the time.
The Haier AC that I have reviewed is a 1.6 Ton inverter AC and it is 5 star rated.
First of all, let’s talk about installation, the installation is done by the company itself. The technician did an excellent job and installed the AC in the house in a very neat and clean manner. Installing Split AC is more difficult than Window AC, but the technician sent by the company took out and installed all the ducts very neatly.
Many features have been provided in this AC which are very useful. It has frost self-cleaning tech and also has a triple inverter. The company claims that it saves energy up to 65%. After running the AC for a month, the bill is now actually Rs 2,000 less than what it used to be. That means it meets the standards of energy saving.
The air throw of the AC is perfect and completely cools a mid-sized room in just a few minutes. Air throw happens in two ways which you can control through remote or app. Due to its air throw of 20 meters, it proves to be better for large rooms also. Due to this, cool air reaches every corner of the room and the room cools down quickly.
Talking about Frost Self Clean tech, it is interesting. You can use this feature through app or remote. As soon as the feature is turned on, a frost is formed in the evaporator of the AC which traps all the dust present in the coil and as soon as the frost melts, all the dust gets washed out through the duct. That means it cleans itself. However, you will have to remove the external filter yourself from time to time and clean it.
This app will tell you when to clean the filter and in the app itself you will get complete instructions on how you can clean the filter.
There are many controls available in the remote, including a health mode. There is an LED on the AC which you can also turn off through the remote. You can control this air condition from anywhere through the app. Initially you have to connect it to your WIFI, the process is quite easy and for this you can download Haismart app from App Store or Play Store.
The app interface is very simple and here you get the option of timer, sleep curve, filter and detecting. By using the timer, you can auto set the AC as to when it will turn off and when it will turn on. There is another such interesting feature whose name is Sleep Curve.
Sleep Curve is actually meant to control the temperature while you sleep so that electricity is saved and your body gets as much coolness as it needs.
It has some pre-set curves which include Default, Men, Women, Elderly and Children. As the night passes, the temperature normally decreases and on this basis your AC will also keep setting the temperature on its own i.e. keep increasing it. This curve is of 8 hours and you can set whatever temperature you want in different hours.
For example, if you are sleeping with AC running at 24, then gradually every hour or two it will automatically increase the temperature by 1 point and after a time it will maintain the same temperature so that you do not feel hot.
You can also customize this curve yourself. You can select and set the temperature according to the timing. Your AC will work throughout the night according to whatever curve you select. You can also change the mode from the app itself. Modes include cool, fan and dry.
You can also select the wind speed from the app itself. Here you get the option of High, End, Low and Auto, out of which you can select one.
There is a filter option in the app itself, on selecting which the app will tell you whether you want to clear the filter or not. Here you will get the complete steps on how you can clean the filter. Remember, for the AC to work properly and not overheat, it is important that you keep cleaning the filter of any AC from time to time.
On selecting the Detecting feature, this AC goes into self detection mode. By scanning here it tells you whether there is any problem with the AC. The good thing about this AC is that even in humid weather, it cools the entire room within a few minutes.
Haier 1.6 Ton Heavy Duty Split AC: Bottom Line
The price of this AC is around Rs 45 thousand, although you can buy it at a lower price in the offer. Considering the price, this AC of Haier has many such things which make it the best in the segment. However, the best AC is also judged by how long it lasts. Since I have used this AC for only two months, this review is based on this. After a few months, in the long term review, I will be in a position to tell how reliable this AC is and what problems it faces in the long run. Overall, this AC works well in the usage so far and also lives up to the company’s claims.
