Manu Bhaker Paris Olympics 2024 medal Hat Trick: Manu Bhaker has emerged as a ‘fierce’ athlete in the Paris Olympics. By winning two medals one after the other, he has registered his name in the pages of history. Now Manu has a chance to win gold medal in another event.
Manu Bhaker became the first Indian since Independence to win two medals in the same Olympics, creating history by defeating South Korea in the 10m air pistol mixed team category at the Paris Olympics on July 30 along with Sarabjot Singh. British-born Indian player Norman Pritchard won silver medals in 200 meter sprint and 200 meter hurdles in the 1900 Olympics, but that achievement was achieved before independence.

We have not given up fighting spirit: Manu Bhaker
Manu and Sarabjot had secured a place in the bronze medal match by scoring 580 in the qualification round. Manu said after the victory, ‘I am feeling very proud. Thanks everyone for the good wishes. He said, ‘We cannot control the performance of the opposing team, but our own performance is with us. I and my partner performed our best and did not give up fighting till the end.
There was a lot of pressure during the match: Sarabjot Singh
Ambala shooter Sarabjot was under a lot of pressure to perform well after failing in the individual category. He said, ‘I am feeling good. The competition was very tough and there was a lot of pressure. Manu could not qualify for the finals in the Tokyo Olympics due to a malfunction in her pistol. But by winning two medals here he healed every wound.
This is how India won bronze after a bad start
India had a bad start when Sarabjot’s first shot was 8.6, but Manu made 10.2. The Korean pair took a lead of 2.0 by scoring a total of 20.5. In the mixed team category, the team that reaches 16 points first remains victorious. After losing the first set, Manu continued to perform well and scored less than 10 only three times. After this it became difficult for the Korean team to make a comeback
