A landslide has occurred in Wayanad, Kerala amid heavy rains. More than 100 people are trapped in this. A massive rescue operation is being conducted to save people.

According to the information, the landslide occurred around 2 am on Tuesday morning. After this, another landslide occurred at around 4.10 in the morning. According to the news agency, more than 100 people were trapped under the debris due to the landslide, and a rescue operation is being conducted to bring them out.

16 people injured in the landslide have been admitted to a private hospital in Meppadi, Wayanad. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is also keeping an eye on this matter. He has said that after the landslide in Wayanad, all possible rescue operations will be coordinated. As soon as the incident was known, the government machinery got involved in the rescue operation. Today the state minister can visit the spot.

According to the CMO of the area, landslides have occurred in Wayanad after heavy rains. The National Health Mission has established a control room here. Helpline numbers 9656938689 and 8086010833 have also been issued for emergency assistance. Two helicopters Mi-17 and one ALH of the Air Force will be dispatched from Sulur, Tamil Nadu at 7.30 am. Let us tell you that Wayanad has been the Lok Sabha constituency of veteran Congress leader and currently the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi. This year (2024) also, Rahul Gandhi won the Lok Sabha elections from Rae Bareli as well as Wayanad, although later he left the Wayanad seat.
