After filming this, director Kabir Khan was confused. Because there was no feeling in Munni’s voice which would leave an impression on the audience. It was a bit confusing, Kabir’s daughter Saira helped him in fixing it.
Confusion at midnight climax
Kabir Khan’s Bajrangi Bhaijaan is considered one of the cult classic films of Hindi cinema. Salman Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Harshali Malhotra were in lead roles in the film. Kabir told- We were watching the edit for the last time at 11:30 in the night, the premiere was to take place the next morning. At the time of the shoot, we were able to understand everything that Harshali was saying, but when we sat down to listen, we expressed doubt at night that it seemed confusing. When I said that I did not understand this, the whole picture was lost. I called the security guards and said that we are showing you something, you tell us what the girl is saying. When shown, they did not understand. Then I called some people and they also did not understand. I thought he was dead.
Kabir’s daughter helped
What we did is we recorded the sound at one speed and we are elongating it more. Now Harshali lived far away, we could not bring her. My daughter Saira was also 6 years old at that time. I called my wife Minnie that I could bring Saira. She said she is sleeping, she has school tomorrow. I said, Minnie, please get up, bring him. Saira came…she said Baba, what to do, I have woken up from sleep, my voice is broken. Then I explained to him that you have to shout uncle…Jai Shri Ram. Then I shouted at him to speak like this. Poor girl, she screamed in her sleep, and recorded it. For that we have also given him a small credit at the end.
The film Bajrangi Bhaijaan was released in the year 2015. It was produced by Salman Khan Films. Made with a budget of around Rs 90 crore, this film created a stir at the box office. The film ran in theaters for a long time and did a business of around Rs 900 crore.
