A unique fair of snakes, where after taking a dip in the river…

On the occasion of Nag Panchami, a fair of snakes is organized in Samastipur, Bihar, which people from other states also come to see. According to tradition, on this day the people of Singhiya village perform puja and take a dip in the Budhi Gandak river and catch the snake with their hands and mouth and take it out from the river.
